Hi again, am continuing with the teaching I did at our Church recently especially for our youth.

Listen to this: Human DNA contains more organized information than the encyclopedia Britannica. If the full text of the encyclopedia Britannica were to arrive in computer code from outer space, most people would regard this as proof of the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. But seen in nature, it is explained as the workings of random forces. George Sim Johnson [‘did Darwin get it right’, wall street journal 1999]

Phillip Gold [quoted in Stephen C Meyer, ‘word games: DNA, design and intelligence’]. “Einstein said “God does not play dice.” He was right, God plays scrabble. I like that!

DNA serves as the information storehouse for a finely choreographed manufacturing process in which the right amino acids are linked together with the right bonds in the right sequence to produce the right kind of proteins that fold in the right way to build biological systems.

So, when I read the other day that life probably began on earth when a meteorite laced with amino acids crashed in to the young earth’s primordial soup, I was astonished! I mean, if there were amino acids on this meteorite – and remember by the way, amino acids are very complex, – then they had to be manufactured by DNA which is even more complex! So I had to ask: “where did these complex DNA and amino acids come from in the first place?” The meteorite crashing is possibly an event, just as the big bang is possibly an event, in fact every hypothesis people come up with are events and not causes! So, what caused the big bang? What caused DNA, RNA, amino acids and complex life forms?

There was nothing, emptiness! No physical matter, no particles, no atoms, no combustible materials, no heat, no spark, no nature, no space, no time, no nothing [or so we’re told!]

Then suddenly BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!    an explosion of light and life from nowhere! Well, how do we explain that? For me it’s simple and takes no effort whatsoever to believe. ‘The physical was created by the spiritual, the natural from the supernatural. Creation was a miracle and miracles like this are performed by God. It’s very humbling isn’t it! But that’s probably why many reject it! “PRIDE!” [my italics]

Here it is in black and white: “In the beginning [the dateless past or eternal past] (lit from the Hebrew) God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1

This corresponds with John 1:1 “In the beginning [dateless or eternal past] was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. [verse 3]  All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being”.

Who was the word? It was Christ [the Logos] He created all things! Why do people have such a problem with this? Hey you out there! Why do you have a problem with this? It’s so simple! It’s so easy and takes zero effort to believe! I would flounder [mega first class] if I had to come to terms with the horror that nothing created everything from nothing and for absolutely nothing and for absolutely no purpose whatsoever, and then to top it all off the end-game is poof, we’re gone forever, no future or eternal existence! That is soooooooooo scary and horrific! How do folk out there come to terms with such annihilism, such purposelessness, such finality?

Why is it so hard to believe that God created something out of nothing? It’s so easy! Easier than believing nothing created something out of nothing! Well I’ll do some more 0f this over the weekend. Have a good think about this!

Nice one, but I do like the scrabble one as well! Die come up randomly and by chance! Not scrabble, it infers the need for intelligence to put the right letters in the right order to form intelligible words. Have a lovely day 🙂
