We have this treasure in earthen vessels 2 Corinthians 4:7
Yesterday I began to look at Ephesians 2:10 and how through our salvation in Christ, we are being recreated in the image of Christ and that we are poems or expressions of God’s love. The masterpiece that God recreates in Christ is the same as the treasure in earthen vessels. When I look in the mirror that isn’t the masterpiece neither is it the treasure, nevertheless, the earthen vessel is still vital, unique, wonderfully complex and significant! However, the spiritual should take precedence over the natural. The world and many people in it are a mess because the devil has deceived folk in to believing it is the other way round and that the spiritual isn’t important or even real!
God, through Christ has turned this all around so that we are being transformed from the inside out; a spiritual regeneration that affects and enhances the potential of the physical, that not only leads to a better quality of life [at least that’s been my experience] but also brings about an eternal restoration and everlasting life to those who embrace Christ. So, we shouldn’t focus on our faults, flaws, failings and flops, but get over them and learn from them; however, we should focus on the treasure within us! God’s presence, God’s potential, God’s power and God’s purposes for our lives. Seize upon these, grasp this moment and go turn your life and your world upside down.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the treasure within me, the Christ potential. Thank you for this earthen vessel that you prepared from eternity to host your Holy Spirit and represent you on earth at a time like this. I acknowledge that this vessel is important, vital and purposeful, but I acknowledge too that I need to focus upon and feed the spiritual more so. In Jesus’ name Amen
