THE BEST IS YET TO COME

THE POTTER’S PLAN [The word for today] Bob Gass

‘…as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand…’ Jeremiah 18:6 NKJV

Here’s an excerpt from my last post. The Potter’s commitment to finish what He began. ‘…He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ’ (Philippians 1:6 NKJV). Here are two things you must remember while you’re spinning on the Potter’s wheel: 1) The Potter has the right to mould you as He sees fit. Nothing can prevent Him from making you into what He wants you to become. He is an expert at turning lumps of clay into objects of value and usefulness. ‘Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the …lump to make one vessel for honour…?’ (Romans 9:21 NKJV). Your job is to stay on the wheel and let God make you into what He desires you to be. 2) The Potter has an individual plan for each lump of clay. The Potter, not the clay, determines the end-product in the same way that the Holy Spirit determines your place and role in the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:18). So discover the Potter’s plan and submit to Him!

Someone may say ‘ah, but what about free will? God can’t force me to be what I don’t want to be!’ The problem with that thinking is YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR YOU! BUT GOD DOES! You only think you do and from experience if you are anything like I used to be, what you wanted for you was probably totally selfish? Or may be that is just me?? So, you go on the wheel willingly or screaming, either way He’ll mould you in to your best destiny and outcome! It’s either easy or difficult! You choose, but God will get you on the wheel of testing and proving and shaping not by force but though life’s circumstances.

My advise, read this poem by Helen Steiner Rice and apply!

“God Knows Best”

by Helen Steiner Rice

Our Father knows what’s best for us,
So why should we complain–
We always want the sunshine,
But He knows there must be rain–

We love the sound of laughter
And the merriment of cheer,
But our hearts would lose their tenderness
If we never shed a tear…

Our Father tests us often
With suffering and with sorrow,
He tests us, not to punish us,
But to help us meet tomorrow…

For growing trees are strengthened
When they withstand the storm,
And the sharp cut of a chisel
Gives the marble grace and form…

God never hurts us needlessly,
And He never wastes our pain
For every loss He send to us
Is followed by rich gain…

And when we count the blessings
That God has so freely sent,
We will find no cause for murmuring
And no time to lament…

For our Father loves His children,
And to Him all things are plain,
So He never sends us pleasure
When the soul’s deep need is pain…

So whenever we are troubled,
And when everything goes wrong,
It is just God working in us
To make our spirit strong.

Get back on the wheel, let Him make you what He intends YOU to be and see that the BEST IS STILL YET TO COME.
