THE BEST IS YET TO COME

SUDDENLY’S, SIGNS and SIGNALS!

The definition of suddenly is: quickly and unexpectedly!” There seems to have been a lot of that just lately!

Suddenly without warning a fire in a China sea port turns into two massive explosions taking many lives and maiming 100s more.

Suddenly a vintage jet dips after completing a loop and crashes in to cars queuing on a busy road taking lives and maiming others.

Suddenly streams of displaced people are leaving war torn and politically unstable lands and heading for Europe, many dying, many won’t be allowed to stay, many more will die.

Suddenly as quickly as China has risen to world number one economy status, within twelve months it is suddenly nose diving!

Here are just a few SUDDENLY’S IN THE BIBLE WORTH MEDITATING UPON.

Luke 21:34 “So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.

Acts 2:2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

1 Thessalonians 5:3  for when they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction shall come upon them, as the travail  of labour pains come upon her who is with child, and they shall not escape.

The last one reminds me of Israel and the USA! Israel thought that because they were God’s chosen that they could do as they please and still expect God to protect them! In Isaiah 9:10 we see their defiant attitude after God allowed their security to be breached by the Assyrians! God was trying to get their attention, to call them back to repentance, before something worse happened! listen to their defiance.

New International Version
“The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.”

Israel are basically saying, okay, now WE will build stronger WE will become greater through this! They did not see that it was a wake up call to repentance and as a national turning back to God. The leaders spoke these words rather than repenting as a nation before God. And these very words from Isaiah 9:10 were used many times after 9/11 as a defiant stand against anyone who thinks America is done with. NO NATIONAL REPENTANCE, NO SEEING IT AS A POSSIBLE WAKE UP CALL! Like Israel, the USA have been mightily blessed and used by God, but in the last 50 or so years the USA have withdrawn God from schools, they’ve taken prayer out of schools, they’ve forsaken the 10 commandments and ignored what their forefathers prayed over the nation and warned them of if they ever forsook God. And since 1973 they’ve aborted millions of babies just as Israel murdered countless children on the alters of Baal and Molech. And fought in UNJUSTIFIABLE WARS killing thousands of people, many innocent civilians.

So what’s the answer for us and the USA? I think there is only one answer and it’s in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14

New Living Translation
[13] At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you. [14] Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

So, chew on these verses, pray them for yourself, the UK, Europe and the USA, tomorrow I’ll open these verse up a bit more. Have a FAB day.
