THE RAPTURE [HARPAZZO]
Ok, so. Holy Spirit is now constraining me to put on paper [as it were] why I believe in a pre-tribulation rapture! Please understand, He didn’t say this is the correct stance, but to put down my personal stance! Whatever your leaning is, I’m ok with that, but please hear mine out too. Thanks J:-)
2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6 And you know what restrains him now [from being revealed]; it is so that he will be revealed at his own [appointed] time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness [rebellion against divine authority and the coming reign of lawlessness] is already at work; [but it is restrained] only until he who now restrains it is taken out-of-the-way. So, who is the restrainer? It can’t be governments as they can’t restrain themselves let alone lawlessness! It can’t be Holy Spirit because He has to be at work through the tribulation period working through the Jewish evangelists saving people who reject the antichrist and choose Christ and working through the two prophet witnesses of God. So, I believe it has to be the Church! We are salt and light. Salt stems corruption, Light dispels the darkness! As long as we are on earth, praying, praising and speaking out God’s word, lawlessness and hell on earth are being restrained! Through our authority as Kings and through our intercessions as priests, we restrain evil! Think what it will be like when we are gone!
Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up IN THE CLOUDS to meet the Lord IN THE AIR. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 New Living Translation
14The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15 From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down THE NATIONS. He will RULE THEM with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. Revelation 19:14-15 New Living Translation (NLT)
11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back IN THE SAME WAY you have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11New International Version (NIV)
On that day HIS FEET WILL STAND ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, east of Jerusalem. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west. Half the mountain will move toward the north and half toward the south. Zechariah 14:14 New Living Translation. I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that in the first instance He comes secretly in the air for the Church at the harpazzo and only His people will see Him! Then after the 7 years of tribulation, He returns TO THE EARTH [so I believe] at the Parousia, His second advent from heaven to THE EARTH and every eye shall see Him!
For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 New American Standard Bible
Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron sceptre.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. Revelation 19:15 New International Version.
“The Tribulation is God’s wrath upon the unbelieving world, and not for those who are saved from Christ’s resurrection to the Rapture called the Church. Yes believers have suffered all throughout human history, but there is a special time (just like the Flood) set apart called the Day of the Lord for God’s wrath. Christians suffering and the Tribulation/Day of the Lord are different!” [A quote from Nathan E. Jones- why I believe in a pre-tribulation rapture.] So, I have to ask “why would God allow His Son to be sacrificed for the propitiation of our sins, for Him to be the sacrificial Lamb, consumed and burned up by the wrath of God, only to have those whom He died for suffer the same furious wrath of God upon the lawless Godless and Christ haters in the 7 year tribulation period!? That makes no sense at all?” The tribulation period is not for the Church, it’s for the time of Jacob’s troubles and for God to deal with the Jews and the Godless nations.
How awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it. Jeremiah 30:7 New International Version. Most scholars and commentaries put this verse in the time frame of the 7 years of the great tribulation. It’s the time for Israel to start to come back to God. The Church is not Israel nor Israel the Church! Jacob was cut off when they rejected their Messiah at the first advent and the wild olive branch [the Gentiles] began to be grafted in at Pentecost at the birth of the Church and the period of God’s grace which I believe is from the day of Pentecost till the rapture. Israel I believe can’t be fully re-grafted in whilst the Church is still on earth, so she has to be taken out.
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 It seems to me that when a war against a country is imminent, the ambassadors are immediately recalled. These are the representatives of a sovereign nation. The Kingdom of Heaven is our sovereign nation, so as Christ’s ambassadors it seems logical to me, that we would be removed before God declares war on the nations through the judgements to come. The appeal has echoed through us for over 2000 years! Is it time for God to recall His representatives?
At the rapture — the dead in Christ rise up first in their immortal bodies and those of us living believers at that time obtain glorified bodies in the twinkling of an eye and are caught up with them to meet Christ in the air. But at the Second Coming we return in those same glorified bodies. These are two separate events.
At the rapture believers go to heaven. At the Second Coming glorified believers come from heaven to earth. 1 Thessalonians 4 & Revelation 19
At the rapture the world is left unjudged and living in sin. At the Second Coming the world is judged and righteousness is established.
The rapture is revealed only in New Testament, however the Second Coming is revealed in both Old and New Testaments.
The rapture deals with only the saved but the Second Coming deals with both the saved [tribulation saints] and unsaved
At the rapture Satan remains free, but at the Second Coming Satan is bound and thrown into the Abyss.
From Revelation chapter 1-3 we see the Church [ecclesia] mentioned numerous times. However at the beginning of chapter 4 we see John taken in to heaven and the next 2 chapters 4 & 5 deal with heaven. In chapters 6-19 we see judgement coming upon the earth. The strange thing is, the word ecclesia [Church] is never mentioned in relation to the tribulation period of 6-19! I find that very odd don’t you? That which has been on Christ’s heart, His Church and has been taught about through the whole of the New Testament is no more! She’s gone? But where? I believe she was snatched up to heaven just as John was snatched up to heaven. After that it’s all about heaven whilst hell is let loose on earth!
If the rapture is mid or post tribulation then when are these two events going to happen?
- For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. 2 Corinthians 5:10 New Living Translation and 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (NIV)
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;
8 it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
9 And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” Revelation 19:6-9 (ESV)
How are these two massive and spectacular events going to happen at the end of the tribulation or even half way through it?
So, there’s more, but that’ll do for now. I’ll be back to share some more of my dreams tomorrow. Keep em peeled!
